This picture, showing the shadows of my friends, has a Magritte-like quality in the way that it superimposes two worlds, many miles distant.

The original picture, taken in the late afternoon on a terrace at the Guggenheim Museum, shows the shadows of our friends Mina and Richard on the left and the Hobbitt and myself on the right. We had been telling them about our recent vacation in the south of France.

So I thought that I would combine the two to create a single image.

The picture underneath was taken from the ancient hilltop village of Cordes sur Ciel, overlooking some of the most beautiful countryside in France. It's about 15 miles north of Albi and about 25 miles north of Graulhet, where we had rented a farmhouse for a week, to be followed by a week in Paris.
