Happy anniversary! Two years ago today, on Friday the 13th, we took ownership of our new (old) house in Virginia. The Hobbitt said that she wanted to move in on the day we closed on the house, rather than waiting for it to be fully furnished. So we brought a load of stuff down from NYC and spent our first day at the local mall buying enough temporary furniture (including an inflatable bed) to make it possible. We celebrated our first night here with a dinner and champagne. You were right, Hobbitt, and for that you get two rightaboys*.This morning, as we were having breakfast, nature gave us an anniversary present. To the East, a spectacular sunrise. To the west, a beautiful moonset as the full moon dropped below the mountain. All served up on the powdery white of yesterday's snowfall. This panorama is one of the first pictures that I took from the field behind our new house. The clouds looked like dogs running across the sunset.*Note: A rightaboy is like an attaboy, but instead of praise, you're saying that the other person was right. Saves a lot of time in the long run.
